Church partnership enables us to make our house their home.
Welcome Home exists to provide short-term housing to refugee new arrivals from every ethnic and religious background. Emotional and spiritual support is offered to newcomers that choose us as their residence. We assist the refugee with settlement and seek to advocate on their behalf by engaging the community, especially the local churches. Ultimately, our goal is to provide the support and skills that will enable refugees to lead a healthy and productive life, whether they remain in Canada or are forced to return to their home country.
Watch this short video to meet some of the people and hear about some of the ways we say, “Welcome Home!” to newly arrived refugees. You’ll meet Sharon Schmidt, our Director, Scott Cressman, a former staff member, and three refugees from Sudan and Ethiopia.
We’ll be re-opening by September 1st.
